#149 Philip Tallon听听
Dr. Philip Tallon is the interim dean of the HBU School of Christian Thought. Dr. Tallon has served for the last six years as the chair of the Department of Apologetics, and for the last two years as the graduate director for the SCT. Dr. Tallon is the author of 鈥淭he Poetics of Evil鈥 (Oxford, 2012) and 鈥淭he Absolute Basics of the Christian Faith鈥 (Seedbed, 2016). He is also the author of many essays exploring the intersection of theology and the arts.听听听
#150 Rachel Sweet听听
Rachel Sweet has been an Honors College student and a Christianity major and Biblical Languages minor, learning from the teaching and character of world-class theologians in the School of Christian Thought. She has represented the School on HBU鈥檚 Student Government Association and as the chair of the School of Christian Thought Leadership Council. Additionally, she鈥檚 served as a Husky Ambassador. Rachel plans to go into youth ministry.听
#151 Clinton Millsap听听
Clinton Millsap is earning his Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis on painting and drawing. He currently teaches at his private art school, The Millsap School of Art in Houston. Clinton came to HBU to study under renowned artist and professor, Michael 搁辞辩耻茅 Collins. Clinton recently won Honorable Mention and First Prize at the Assistance League of Houston Celebrates Texas Art 2020 Juried Art Show.鈥听
#152 Motoko Gloria Yasue听听
Motoko Yasue 鈥淢oto鈥 is earning her Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in painting. Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Yasue worked as an assistant manager for a global finance and insurance company. She decided to pursue her artistic vision and moved to Houston in 2012 to study art. Her work is fanciful and inspired.听
#153 Kevin Klotz听听
Dr. Kevin Klotz ’99 is the director of Choral Activities and assistant professor of Music at HBU. He directs the University Singers and Schola Cantorum ensembles and teaches music appreciation, class piano, conducting, and vocal techniques. Dr. Klotz is also the music minister at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land and the artistic director/conductor of the Houston Choral Society.听
#154 Michael Collins听
Michael 搁辞辩耻茅 Collins is an artist-in-residence for painting, professor of art, and senior director of visual arts in the HBU School of Fine Arts. His art is primarily represented by Lewallen Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and has been placed in the permanent collections of more than 16 museums nationally. His paintings have been awarded over 50 juried prizes and grants in peer-reviewed juried exhibitions worldwide. The publication,鈥淔rom Ruins To Resurrection: The Sacred Landscapes of Michael 搁辞辩耻茅 Collins,鈥 showcases some of his treasured works.鈥听
#155 Sue Sloan听
First Lady Sue Sloan is the wife of HBU President Robert Sloan. Mrs. Sloan provides hospitality as an events hostess; she is a gracious presence who can often be seen throughout campus, supporting numerous HBU organizations, and cheering at Husky athletics events. With the heart of a mother and grandmother, she influences the lives of HBU students and is the friend of many.听
#156 Robert Gagnon听
Dr. Robert A. J. Gagnon is professor of New Testament Theology at HBU. Previously he taught at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for 23 years. He has degrees from Dartmouth College, Harvard Divinity School, and Princeton Theological Seminary. His main fields of interest are Pauline theology and sexual issues in the Bible. He is the author of鈥淭he Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and Hermeneutics鈥 and coauthor (with Dan O. Via) of鈥淗omosexuality and the Bible: Two Views.鈥 In addition, he has published articles, encyclopedia entries, and has written and been quoted in numerous publications.听听
#157 Bruce and Bo Badger听听
Bruce Badger graduated from HBU in 1978. Bruce attended the University of Houston Law Center; he graduated and married his wife Susan in 1981. Together, they raised five boys, Steven, Travis 鈥08, Colt 鈥11, Davis 鈥15 and Bo (HBU class of 2024).听Bruce and Travis practice law as partners in Badger Law PLLC where they handle a wide range of legal issues for clients in the area of commercial and residential real property law, mortgage lending, real estate development and secured lender matters.听

Bo is an incoming student-athlete at HBU. He will run cross country and track while pursuing a degree in Cinema Arts. He says, 鈥淥ne of my older brothers ran cross country in high school and I went to all his meets. He ended up being a good runner and got a scholarship at HBU. So, when I started seventh grade, I started running. I am the youngest in my family and the fourth Badger boy to attend HBU. My parents both attended HBU along with my aunt. All my brothers, and my father, found their wives at HBU. So you could say that we are an HBU family.鈥濃听
#158 Kyle Gruller听
Kyle Gruller grew up in Cypress, Texas. He excelled in baseball and played for two seasons at Wharton County Junior College before coming to HBU as a right-handed pitcher. Gruller ranked third in the Southland Conference in strikeouts and eighth with a 1.75 opponent batting average. Gruller also posted a 3.96 GPA to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District and Southland Conference All-Academic Team honors. He recently signed with Major League Baseball鈥檚 Houston Astros.听
#159 David Baggett听
Dr. David Baggett is a professor of Philosophy in HBU’s School of Christian Thought and director of the Center for Moral Apologetics. After teaching college鈥痜or 18 years elsewhere, he, along with鈥痟is wife Marybeth,鈥痓egin teaching at HBU in the fall of 2020. Dr. Baggett is the author or editor of 15 books and is a two-time Christianity Today book award winner, most recently, 鈥The Morals of the Story鈥 (IVP Academic, 2018, written with鈥痟is wife).鈥疕e has cowritten three Oxford University Press books鈥痮n the moral argument鈥痺ith HBU philosophy professor Jerry Walls, and his specializations include philosophical theology, philosophy of religion, religious ethics, philosophy and popular culture, and moral apologetics.听

Marybeth Baggett听
Dr. Marybeth Baggett is a professor of English in the HBU School of Humanities. She has 17 years鈥 experience teaching composition, literature and literary criticism, and, along with her husband David, is excited to join the faculty of HBU in the fall of 2020. Dr. Baggett is coauthor of 鈥淭he Morals of the Story鈥 and 鈥淎t the Bend of the River Grand.鈥 She has written articles on modern and contemporary American literature, utopian literature, and science fiction for both academic and popular publications. Her research interests include literary apologetics, critical theory, and cultural engagement.听

John Holmes has served as associate vice president of Facilities & Campus Operations at HBU since 2014. John oversees the facilities and many auxiliary services of the University including public safety and the police department, is an adjunct instructor in the Archie W. Dunham College of Business, deputy Title IX coordinator, and is a director on the Southwest Management District board. He is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration program through the Grenoble 脡cole de Management.听听

#161 Steve Moniaci听听
Steve Moniaci oversees 17 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 sports teams. During his time as director, HBU has transitioned back to NCAA Division I membership status, joined the Southland Conference, and started a football program which competes in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).听听
#162 Jill Strutton听
Jill Strutton serves as HBU鈥檚 Director of Human Resources. Her background includes 24 years of human resources experience in employee relations, recruitment, training, compensation and benefits. She has worked in industries including higher education, healthcare, accounting and global software.听

Dr. Mary White serves as the Teaching & Learning Sciences Department Chair in the HBU College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. As a bilingual educator, she has taught in the charter, public, and private school settings. Her current action research project includes the establishment of a School Library in San Andreas Island.听听听

#164 Stan Napper听听
Dr. Stan Napper joined HBU in 2017. He has served as the dean of the College of Science and Engineering, leading new programs in Cyber Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He was recently named the HBU acting provost. He is admired for his leadership and service.听听

Page Hernandez serves as the director of Alumni Relations and is an alumna of HBU, class of 2005. Her background includes seven years in higher education, previously with enrollment management at HBU and the University of Houston. She has a passion for connecting with Husky alumni and getting them involved with HBU.听听听
#166 Nathan Ewest听听
Nathan Ewest is the head musher of Kiza, the canine mascot of HBU. As Kiza’s caretaker, Nathan is responsible for several aspects of her well-being including daily walks, being fed, veterinary appointments, game appearances and grooming. He manages the Sled Team, a group of five students who help take care of Kiza. He is a student of the Honors College as well as a member of the Pro-Life Huskies.听
